Created by the Hop Products Australia (HPA) breeding program in 2000 and released in 2013, Vic Secret™ was considered an “insider tip” for a long time, explaining its unique name. With the same ancestry as Topaz™, Vic Secret™ is a dual-purpose hop that effuses a charming earthy quality when added early in the boil, but is best utilized late in the whirlpool or dry hopping where it’ll turn out fruity pineapple flavours instead! Vic Secret™ hops are versatile, great for everything from Pales Ales and IPAs to Stouts and Porters.

Typical Aroma Profile

Vic Secret™ hops are pleasantly earthy if added early in the boil, but if added late in the whirlpool or dry hopping, it is characterized by an array of sweet, fruity aromas, namely that of pineapple. It is often paired with other varieties that deliver tropical flavors, like Galaxy®, Mosaic®, and Azacca®.

Vic Secret™ raw hop sensory is characterized by notes of lime, grapefruit, and strawberries. It has a pervasive spiciness, with warming notes of pepper and ginger, balanced by herbal marjoram and resinous pine.
