Galena ist the ancient Roman term for the mineral galenite. Within the breeding program of Idaho it was released as a variety in 1978. The female parent is Brewers Gold. Galena is characterized by high alpha acids and a relatively high content of beta acids. Storage stability is nearly as good as for Cluster.

Typical Aroma Profile

 

Galena has a predominance of aromas of sweet and green fruits in a fragrant combination with fine herbal essences. In addition this variety displays floral characteristics of elderflower, with a strong expression of green fruits and citrus.
