A high oil content with diverse characteristics is what makes Ekuanot hops such a brilliant hop variety. It was developed by the Hop Breeding Company by crossing Warrior with a wild hop variety to coax a higher yield, and the glorious result was a superbly bright and zesty flavor and strong aroma. Released in 2014, Ekuanot hops are often used in American Pale Ales and American IPAs, but stand strong as a single hop in beers. It also works well in sours and pilsners.

Typical Aroma Profile

These hops are fruity to the core and reminiscent of an exotic cocktail. Grapefruit, lemongrass and mandarin lend tangy accents to ripe guava, lychee, mango, pineapple and passion fruit. Black currants, gooseberries and grapes round off the flavor profile.
